"Be the Change" Essay

In this research essay, students choose a historical figure that inspires them by the difference they made in the world.

Then students have to think consider an issue they care about and how they can apply what they learned from this figure to make a difference of their own on the issue they chose.

This is much more impactful than a simple biography or report on a figure from history as students get to apply what they learned to their own lives and to things that matter to them.

I always tell my students, no issue is so small, that making a positive difference for it, doesnt help make the world a slightly better place.
