WHAT STUDENTS LEARN

All episodes and lessons teach through the power of story to make history relevant and engaging for students. In the first video-lesson students discover the¬†Jim Crow South and racial hatred led to¬†the murder of Emmett Till and how that helped spark the Civil Rights Movement.¬† Lesson two teaches the early Civil Rights Movement and how non-violent resistance was used to secure monumental achievements and the underlining philosophy guiding the activists.¬†The third episode dives deep into the lives and differing beliefs of Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X but also covers important events of the Civil Rights Movement that King and X led. Lastly, the fourth lesson teaches the Black Power Movement and how that shifted the movement while focusing on the 1968 Olympic Protest and ‚ÄúBlack Power Fist.‚Ä̬†
